Payment & Security

At Cuneed, we take payment security seriously. Your financial information is protected by industry-leading technology, and we never store your full card details. This page explains how we process payments securely and what we do to protect your transactions.

1. Payment Methods We Accept

We accept the following secure payment methods at checkout:

Credit and Debit Cards

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Diners Club
  • Discover

Digital Wallets

  • Shop Pay (Shopify's express checkout)
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

All payments are processed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) only

2. How We Process Your Payment

When you place an order on Cuneed, here is what happens:

Step 1: You Enter Your Payment Details
You enter your card information or choose a digital wallet at our secure checkout powered by Shopify Payments.

Step 2: Immediate Payment Authorization
Your payment is authorized and charged immediately when you click "Complete Order." We do not use pre-authorization holds—your card is debited right away once your order is confirmed.

Step 3: Order Confirmation
You receive an instant email confirmation with your order details, payment receipt, and tracking information (once dispatched).

Step 4: Secure Processing
Shopify Payments processes your transaction through encrypted, PCI-compliant systems. Your full card number is never stored on our servers.

3. Security Technology Protecting Your Payment

Your payment security is our top priority. We use multiple layers of protection:

3.1 SSL/TLS Encryption
All data transmitted between your browser and our website is encrypted using 256-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology. You can verify this by looking for the padlock icon in your browser's address bar when you visit cuneed.com.

3.2 PCI DSS Level 1 Compliance
Shopify Payments is certified PCI DSS Level 1 compliant—the highest level of payment security certification in the industry. This means your card data is handled according to the strictest global security standards.

3.3 3D Secure Authentication
For added security, Shopify Payments automatically uses 3D Secure (3DS) authentication when required by your bank or card issuer. This may prompt you to verify your identity through your banking app or via SMS during checkout. 3D Secure uses advanced machine learning to detect fraud while minimizing disruption for legitimate customers.

3D Secure includes:

  • Verified by Visa
  • Mastercard SecureCode
  • American Express SafeKey

3.4 CVV Verification
We require your Card Verification Value (CVV)—the 3 or 4-digit security code on your card—to verify that you physically possess the card. Shopify automatically activates CVV fraud prevention to help protect against unauthorized use.

3.5 Tokenization
When you pay, your card details are converted into a secure "token"—a random string of characters that replaces your actual card number. This token is useless to fraudsters even if intercepted. We never see or store your full card number.

4. Fraud Prevention and Risk Analysis

Shopify Payments includes advanced fraud detection powered by machine learning trained on millions of transactions. Every order is automatically analyzed for fraud risk.

4.1 Automatic Fraud Detection
Shopify's fraud analysis system evaluates every transaction in real-time, checking factors such as:

  • IP address location and behavior
  • Billing and shipping address mismatches
  • Multiple failed payment attempts
  • Unusual purchasing patterns
  • Card verification checks (CVV and AVS)

4.2 Temporary Blocklists
To protect against fraud, Shopify automatically implements temporary blocklists:

  • IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions are temporarily blocked for a few hours
  • Credit cards associated with blocked IP addresses are temporarily blocked for a few days

These measures protect both you and other customers from fraudulent activity without impacting legitimate transactions.

5. What We Do NOT Store

For your security, we never store your full payment card details.

We DO NOT Store:

  • Full card numbers
  • CVV security codes
  • Card PINs or passwords

All sensitive payment data is securely handled and stored by Shopify Payments in compliance with international payment security standards.

6. If Your Payment Fails

Occasionally, a payment may be declined. This can happen for several reasons:

  • Insufficient funds in your account
  • Incorrect card details (number, expiry date, CVV)
  • Your bank flagged the transaction for security reasons
  • Card expired or blocked
  • Daily spending limit reached

What to Do If Your Payment Is Declined:

  1. Double-check your card details are correct
  2. Contact your bank or card issuer to authorize the transaction
  3. Try a different payment method or card
  4. If the problem persists, contact us at support@cuneed.com

Important: If your payment is declined, your order will not be processed, and you will not be charged. You will need to place a new order with valid payment details.

7. Payment Limits

There are no minimum or maximum order limits on Cuneed. You can purchase products of any value, subject to your card issuer's limits and availability of stock.

8. Refunds and Payment Reversals

If you return a product or cancel an order, any refund will be processed back to the original payment method you used.

For full details on our refund process, timelines, and eligibility, please see our Returns & Refunds Policy.

9. Your Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your personal and payment information in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
